Continuing expansion of Vietnam's consumer market
Vietnam is one of the fast growing countries in the world; the population had reached 86.2 million, accounted for approx. 2.13% population in Asia. The continuous growth of domestic production and import activities stimulate a brisk economy well in Vietnam. In 2008, Vietnam's GDP had achieved USD241.7 billion, increased by 6.2% as compared to 2007. Robust economic performance enables consumers to enjoy higher remarkable income; in fact, the total remarkable income is increasing every year.

According to the report of Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO), 70 million pairs of footwear were sold in the domestic market during the first 8 months of 2009, however, only 40 million pairs were made in Vietnam, the rest were mainly imported from China and the neighboring countries.

It is perceived that with the steady growth of Vietnam economic, consumer's remarkable income and the increasing in domestic demand of footwear and leather products, Vietnam cannot be underestimated since many consumers are able to satisfy their strong purchasing power in the country.
